Figures have not yet been verified but we had around 700 visitors including children yesterday, which isn't half bad considering the stiff foodie competition with The Big Food Show and Dartmouth Food Festival taking place on the same day! :-) By paying just £3 for an all day pass, visitors could come and go all day long, enjoying the various events we hosted: the 4 live cookery demos, the 5 sets of live music, the 6 real ales and of course the kids stuff to name just some of them! I have been told the High Street was buzzing during the day too, which is just great to hear!
Myself and Simon would like to say a massive huge thank you to all our volunteers who stewarded yesterday and those who helped with all the masses of preparation leading up to it including the chefs. You may not know this but the whole event is organised by volunteers giving up their valuable time for the love of our town and our community! Many many hours are sacrificed for the cause over the the preceding months as well as on the day, plus a few in the clear up! ;-) Overall yesterday was a great success, so yes, our humble thanks go out to you, and all those who supported the event by attending. I am now going to put my feet up for a little bit!… Trudie xx
