PRESS RELEASE: Changes to the Budleigh Salterton Food Festival dates
Budleigh in Business, the organizing group for the new Budleigh Food & Drink festival, have recently had to make some changes to the planned 2014 Budleigh Food Festival.
In Principle we are moving the main 3 day festival from 24-26 October 2014 to 13-15 March 2015. This is due to the clash with the Dartmouth Food Festival, the subsequent difficulties obtaining funding and the availability of resources on the planned October dates. We want to deliver a festival that stands up to last year’s tremendous success and even builds on it, making it bigger and better!
However the change does have a silver lining! In order to still deliver an event on the Oct weekend and not to disappoint our public, we are going to host a one day taster event on the original Saturday 25 October. This will include 3 cookery demos, mini beer festival, kids stuff etc plus great live music, food & drink. So in effect the public will get two for one: a great one day taster event on the 25 October + a full three day event in March! We also hope that this taster day, the ‘Food & Drink Lite Fest’ will also act as great publicity for the main festival next spring, hopefully gaining more support and raising some well needed funds too!
We are really looking forward to both events and hope to emulate or even surpass last year’s success!
If you would like to contribute to the fundraising and gain ‘Food Fest Friend’ benefits including reserved seats at the food demos, are an East Devon producer and would like to exhibit or if you would like to volunteer to help, please see our website for further details and how to apply.
